Onikooko’s Passage: Kingmakers Imposes 9 Days Movement Restriction

The Onikooko council of Chief has announced 9 days mourning period as burial rites for the late Onikooko of Kooko Ebiye, Ota, HRH Oba Joel Fashina gets underway.

In a press release made by the Onikooko council of chiefs and obtained by VOA News Correspondent, there will be restriction of movement between the hours of 11:00pm to 4:00am effective from Monday, 7th September and spanning through 9 days which will lapse on Tuesday, 15th September, 2026.

According to the Oluwo of Kooko Ebiye, High Chief Olayinka Oyetoro, the restriction is going to be fully enforced and residents of Kooko Ebiye area are enjoined to pay strict adherence to the restrictions.

Recall that VOA News report the demise of Oba Joel Fashina on Monday after reigning for almost 10 years.
