Onitigbo Breaks Ground For First Police Station In Tigbo-ilu

The Onitigbo of Tigbo-ilu, His Royal Majesty Oba Victor Taiwo Thomas Fagbayi (Adeyombo II), on Monday 14 of September 2027 laid the foundation for a new police station in Tigbo-ilu, marking a significant step towards strengthening security and promoting peace in the community.

The foundation-laying ceremony, which attracted traditional leaders, community members and other stakeholders, was held as part of efforts to provide a permanent security facility for residents of Tigbo-ilu and its surrounding areas.

The proposed police station is expected to improve the presence and effectiveness of law enforcement officers in the community. It will also serve as a centre for crime prevention, rapid response and the maintenance of law and order.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Onitigbo described the project as a major development for Tigbo-ilu, noting that the establishment of a police station would contribute significantly to the safety and socio-economic growth of the community.

Oba Fagbayi said the initiative reflected the commitment of the traditional institution and the people of Tigbo-ilu to creating a secure environment for residents, visitors and investors. He stressed that security remained essential to the development of any community, adding that businesses, schools, farms and other economic activities could only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and stability.

The monarch called on individuals, groups and well-meaning residents of Tigbo-ilu to support the project to ensure its timely completion. He also appealed to relevant government agencies and security authorities to assist in providing the necessary facilities and personnel for the effective operation of the station when completed.

Community members who attended the ceremony expressed optimism that the proposed station would help address security challenges in the area. They noted that the absence of a nearby police facility had sometimes made it difficult for residents to obtain immediate assistance during emergencies.

They also commended the Onitigbo for initiating the project, describing it as a demonstration of purposeful traditional leadership and concern for the welfare of the people.
