Federal Government Declares Public Holiday To Mark Eid-Ul-Maulid

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, August 25, 2026, a public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-Ul-Maulid, which marks the birth of the holy prophet Muhammed .

The declaration was announced by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-ojo in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani. The Minister congratulated Muslim in Nigeria and across the diaspora on the occasion.

”Every Eid-Ul-Maulid gives us reason to pause and draw lessons from a life defined by compassion, humility and service to others” The Minister said.

He appealed to all Muslims and other Nigerians to celebrate the moment peacefully, responsibly and mutual respect. While wishing the Muslim Community a peaceful and joyous Eid-Ul-Maulid celebration.
