Save Us From Land Grabbers Using Late Madam Efunroye Tinubu’s Name To Lay Claim To Our Land At Ilapo, Alagbado, Meiran, Abule Egba – Baale Ilapo, Chief Kamorudeen A. Olaonipekun Appeals To Attorney General of Lagos

The Isiki Royal Family of Osi quarters, Ota, Ogun State, has, led by High Chief B.A. Osunlabu (Head of the Family) and Chief Kamorudeen A. Olaonipekun (Baale of Ilapo, via AIT Road, Alagbado, Lagos), petitioned the Lagos State Government over alleged acts of trespass, forceful entry and land grabbing on a vast expanse of family land located along Old Ota Road in the Alagbado area of Lagos.

In a petition dated May 15, 2026 and addressed to the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, the family accused of Olusegun Lawman Afolabi, Onilere Amoyeso and Yusuf Bakare, popularly known as “Bulldozer,” of unlawfully invading the property with armed thugs and threatening residents and occupants on the land.

The petition, written by Shalinks Legal Practitioners on behalf of the Isiki Royal Family, described the development as capable of causing a breach of peace if urgent government intervention is not taken.

According to the solicitors, the land in dispute, known as the “Isiki/Ilapo Family Land,” is situated at Old Ota Road, Alagbado, within Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The family claimed the land has belonged to their forefather, Isiki Odejo, for several generations under Yoruba native law and custom.

The petition stated that the family had exercised uninterrupted ownership and possession over the property for centuries before the recent alleged invasion.

The solicitors further alleged that the accused persons stormed the land with armed men, pasted “Public Notice” and “Keep Off” inscriptions across the area and claimed that the land formed part of their land from “Papa Lanto’” from Ogun State into Lagos and allegedly belonging to the descendants of the late Madam Efunroye Tinubu.

According to the petitioners, the alleged invaders threatened to evict occupants of the land, including schools, churches, mosques, shops and companies that have existed on the property for several years.

The family maintained that it had no prior knowledge of either the alleged land grabbers or any purported claim by the Efunroye Tinubu family to the property.

The petitioners therefore called on the Lagos State Special Task Force on Land Grabbers to urgently investigate the matter and halt all activities allegedly being carried out on the land.

They also urged the authorities to prevent further entry onto the property, arrest and prosecute those allegedly involved under the Lagos State Properties Protection Law of 2016, and restore peaceful possession of the land to the family.

The solicitors warned that failure to swiftly address the matter could lead to a breakdown of law and order in the area, stressing that their clients were willing to cooperate fully with investigators by providing all necessary documents and information.
