Ogun@50: Ace Broadcaster, Adewale Adegoke Dada, ‘The Good’ Congratulates Citizens of Ogun State; Urges Youths to Deepen Political Participation

Renowned broadcaster and media professional, Prince Adewale Adegoke Dada, popularly known as ‘The Good’, has congratulated the people of Ogun State as the state marks its 50th anniversary, describing the milestone as a celebration of resilience, growth, and shared responsibility.

In a statement commemorating the golden jubilee, The Good praised the enduring spirit of Ogun people and the state’s remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s social, economic, and political development over the past five decades.

Born and raised in Ota, Wale Dada’s connection to Ogun State runs deep and is reflected not merely in words, but in a lifetime of deliberate actions and service. He has ancestral ties across several parts of the state, including Igan-Okoto in Yewa North, Ibara in Abeokuta South, Ibara-Orile in Abeokuta North, and Arepo in Obafemi-Owode Local Government both in Ogun West and Ogun Central.

An accomplished broadcaster and a fully invested travel consultant, The Good has consistently projected Ogun State and Nigeria positively, often symbolically expressing his patriotism through his public appearance in the nation’s green and white colours.

His academic journey is firmly rooted in Ogun State, beginning with his early education at St. Joseph’s Primary School, Ogbere, Ijebu, and culminating in a Master’s degree from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo all in Ogun East.

Beyond broadcasting, Wale Dada has contributed to national consciousness through his creative career as a musician, releasing six albums centered on themes of national unity, good governance, and societal development.

Politically, he has demonstrated uncommon selflessness and commitment to grassroots development. His participation in politics includes his contests for the Ogun State House of Assembly in Ado-Odo/Ota State Constituency and his Chairmanship aspiration in 2016, both anchored on advocacy for better governance. Notably, he stepped down from both contests in deference to party leadership decisions, prioritizing party unity and collective progress over personal ambition.

Widely regarded as a passionate philanthropist, The Good has consistently given back to his community. His contributions include the donation of 1,000 water bottles to AUD Practicing School, Ota, the drilling of boreholes, the rehabilitation of a road abandoned for over four decades, and the provision of chairs for school use, particularly during his time as Secretary to Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.

As Ogun State celebrates its golden jubilee, the veteran broadcaster called on young people to take a more active role in politics, stressing that the future of the state rests largely in their hands. He emphasized that politics is not reserved for the elite but is a collective responsibility, especially for youths who are key stakeholders in development.

He also urged eligible voters across the state to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in upcoming elections, noting that civic engagement remains critical to sustainable growth and accountable leadership.

“Ogun State is our home, and we must work together to build a better future,” he said, expressing confidence that with youth leadership and collective effort, the state will continue to overcome challenges and reach greater heights.

Wale Dada further commended the achievements of Ogun State over the years, applauding successive administrations, past governors, and the people of the state for their dedication and service while also extolling the virtues of the founding fathers of Ogun state for their selfless services spanning 50 years.

He concluded by reaffirming his guiding principles: Patriotism, Growth, and Accountability.
