EFCC Arrests 93 Suspects For Internet Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested 93 suspected Internet fraudsters in Ogun State.This development was announced via its X on Sunday.

It stated that the arrests were made during a sting operation in Abeokuta, the state capital, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to internet fraud.

The statement read, “Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 93 suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State.

“They were arrested on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in a sting operation in Abeokuta, Ogun State, following credible intelligence about their suspected involvement in internet crimes”.

The agency disclosed that various items were recovered during the operation.

“Upon their arrest, 18 vehicles and mobile devices were recovered from them.

“They will be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded”, the statement read.
